Ready Steady Store recognises the important work of charities and how much our local communities rely on these charity works.
Last year we helped a few charities with fundraising, free storage, and free packing materials for the Ukraine charities. Our staff has chosen The Mental Health Foundation as our charity of the year, and we have pledged to raise £10,000 in 2022 with the company matching the money raised by our staff and customers.
The mental health and well-being of our staff and customers are important, all our staff were given a half-day mental well-being day where some of us spent quality time with their families, helping their local community with volunteer work, or simply doing something they enjoyed. Our staff also have access to our in-house trained Mental Health Aiders, should they want to have a chat.
The last few years have been difficult for us as a nation, and more people are seeking help and know the importance of doing so, hence the work at The Mental Health Foundation is vital to prevent and provide support to local communities.
We are running monthly new initiatives to help raise money and increase awareness of the importance of the work our charity partner does.

We need your help to raise the essential funds. All we ask is 50p from you, for every 50p or any amount you donate via our Company Just Giving Page, we will match it. The more you donate the more we will match* (up to £5000). Together we can help prevent mental health issues of people we may know and support the vital work of our partner.
You can also donate when you book with us or when you visit our stores. You can even add this small amount to your Direct Debit payment, no amount is too small, remember your donation will be matched by us, so whatever you donate, the charity will get double. By donating via the Just Give page, you can see how much we have raised.
Our partner, The Mental Health Foundation, supports a wide range of people and communities, from children and young people via their BAM programme, single parents with their wellbeing workshops, Mums and babies during pregnancy and postnatal support, to the Standing Together programme for older people at care homes. They have a full programme and events, such as Tea & Talk and Mental Health Awareness Week, where individuals and companies can get involved. They also have a host of resources and guides to help you, your friends, and your families to understand and prevent mental health issues.
As well as helping charities, we are also committed to being a carbon-neutral business with many changes and steps we are taking, from changing our lights to LEDs to minimising our waste, as well as giving free bottles to our staff to minimise single used plastic. We have also partnered with more:trees who have global environmental projects. See how we are involved and how you can help with our sustainability commitment.
