Unit Entry & Locking

If your storage unit starts with the letter E watch this short instructional video for accessing, opening, closing, and locking your unit door.

The site operates full container door access to units. Access to your unit is via a the Ready Steady Store App and this must be downloaded to access the store and before attempting to open the unit door. Your access will release an internal unit lock, then you open the door by lifting and pulling both door lock levers on the right-hand door until the locking teeth at the top of the door are free from the locking pins. Inside the unit, you will find 2 locks, one closed shackle lock to secure the door in the covered lock box section, and one long loop shackle lock to secure one of the two container door handles.

00:04 So when you get to the site, to open the container, just pull the handle,
00:09 or some of them have two handles on, to the side. This will open the door.
00:14 Inside the container, you'll find two padlocks. One of them is for the door,
00:18 and the other one is a shackle lock, which goes into this hole in the lock box.
00:23 You need this on for your insurance to be valid.
00:27 So, to shut the door,
00:30 just check it lines up at the top and the bottom,
00:33 and then just slide it across and pop it into place.
00:38 You can lock the handle with the padlock as such,
00:42 and the shackle lock, it's just a case of putting it inside the lock box.
00:48 And then simply turn the key after pushing the bolt up.
